Last MacWorld Expo for Apple
No Jobs keynote this year either. Not sure how to react to this news:

More later…
Update: After giving this a few minutes to sink in, my general feeling is: This is a terrible idea for two reasons:
1) Apple gets a tremendous amount of press around MacWorld and dropping out of the show assumes they will be able to garner that same amount of attention without MacWorld – I doubt it.
2) The move feels like Apple is turning it’s back on all the smaller companies that support the “iPod economy” with accessories and add-ons. Furthermore, Apple leaving MacWorld basically tells developers on the platform and their most avid fans that they are no longer interested in having them gather once a year in a big celebration of all things Apple.
My gut tells me there is more than meets the eye here -especially with the announcement that Jobs will not deliver the keynote this year – something else is at play here. Perhaps Apple will be at CES in 2010? That at least would make this announcement a bit more understandable.

Or in a more sinister style, perhaps Apple will be producing their own sub-products? That will surely cut loose the rest and redirect the revenues. That’s if they are even contemplating this.

According to the rumor sites…. Apple is doing CES this year. According to some of the podcasters on Leo Laportes twit site, CES is trying to poach vendors over to CES. Maybe CES is going to be huge and Macworld is going to disappear. Mac is a very strong branded community. Likely the strongest in the world, although open source linux communities are strong but since the economic model for linux has not become mature, it will be interesting to see what the trades show world is like beginning in January 2010

Looks like it’s being held at the Moscone center again on February 9th 2010. I know I’ll be there…
